Kindness and Mental Health

Recommended Posts

Dear community,

As you probably have noticed there have been multiple cases of streamers taking their own lives lately and of course, there have been multiple reasons for that to happen.
However, we feel as leaders of a community and being part of the gaming industry that we should make you aware of these things to keep you and everyone else's mental health in a good place.
The world is going through the worst of the worst for most of our population. Very few have been through something so widespread and so harmful like we are going through and facing so we at Fredaikis would like to remind you guys of the importance of comradery and friendliness that is extremely important in these troubling times.
You see, when you act out against someone virtually you have to realize there is SOMEONE on the other side. It's not just a "character" or an avatar. It's a person with feelings and in some instances, that person could be going through a lot. Keep that in mind, we all need a bit of positivity on our side right now since the world is in such a bad place and many people are turtling in on their virtual lives and on the internet to protect themselves from viruses and wars going on.

So we would like to ask you to be extra nice to others. Treat others as you'd like to be treated. Treat others fairly. Nothing good can come out of just being offensive against others for no reason. Think about what you say before you say it as on the internet we luckily have the backspace key that helps us rethink something before we say it. Be nice to each other, support each other.
And if you are being harassed and bullied, feel free to step forward and share how that makes you feel.
Don't try to force someone to get into trouble or do something bad to the person out of pure spite. Think about the consequences of your actions and words before saying anything. Be a human being and treat others like you'd treat anyone in your family.
Nobody is better than anyone else. We're all the same and we're all in this together and if we don't hold hands and work together, this whole situation is only going to get worse.
"Respect people's feelings. Even if it doesn't mean anything to you, it could mean everything to them." - Roy T. Bennett

Be nice. Be respectful. Be human. Be safe.
