Cameras: I was wondering if there would be a possiblity to implement "first person camera only" servers for survival, and see how popular they become. I know this might actually divide the community, but me myself I come from oldschool first person shooter games, and third person camera just does not stick with me. The kills are a lot less rewarding, and looking at the bullets fly out at and angle from third person some how diminishes the experience for me. Also i find myself getting more frags in confronations during warm up on warm up servers using first person camera. It also is way quicker to get into scope, rather than firstly changing camera mode C, then right click into scope... so much hassle. As of now in survival playing in first person mode only is suicide. The third person camera has a profound advantage, as one can peak without being seen. This leads to people waiting and camping behind trees staying unseen, which breaks any realism during combat phases. I have noticed that during third person camera and first person camera only the position of the camera changes - in third the default alt key actually moves the camera to the sides, where as during first person camera the camera is centered. This is a huge handicap; I tried this out and lost a battle just because during first person camera my body peaked more, than my enemy which was clearly in third person; his side of the body was less exposed than mine. Imagine survival mode with first person camera only, where in order to peak, you press a button and the enemy might see your head sticking out from behind a tree, and headshot you... this naturally would have to be implemented, with animation and camera movement. This would bring a whole new level to the game, more tactic more concealment, strategy etc. At least that is what I think. This would also fix any issues with sniping (thank heavens in survival the snipers are rare). I know there is this trend with third person shooters trying to become a genre of its own, but I am just not getting it to be honest, who camps out who the most has a bigger chance with third person camera (perhaps less true with super pro players, and players with hp macros). I would be prepared to support you for this feature and purchase a premium account for this to be implemented. I know only me doing this would only be symbolic, but perhaps more players would jump on the bandwagon, if they liked this idea. Another way out would be to blur, or not show players/zombies once the player is near to a wall in third person mode. However I thing first person camera would be the best option IMO and so much easier to implement. Perhaps the respone will be that this game was not made to be first person, but still please consider that this could change the game for the better. A test run of 1 server with this option would clarify if this would become popular or not. Also: Car camera... camera in the car has a ridiculous advantage over players on foot. One can rotate and see behind walls, inside buildings without the player being concious that he had been discovered. This actually lead me to only play survival once I find a car.. so I log in a sever and look for a car. If I dont find one, I change to another server until i find a car. The car camera should also be either first person, or zoomed in so that the car would take up most screen space. Lockers: Nothing is permanent, and nothing should be permanent, as this skews any game mechanic. Lockers should have an upkeep after a period of time. For example every week, each locker needs 1 metal of resource to stay intact. This would actually limit players having 10000 lockers all over rooftops in survival mode, making it silly in my opinion. If the upkeep would not be met, lockers could either be broken into without the password, or they would degrade and vanish. This would prevent players spaming lockers, and would introduce the need for players to play the game to keep their lockers, populating the servers a little more perhaps at least for some time. If a locker would be taken back to the vault, naturally there would be no need for an upkeep as it is hiddenl; only when placed/planted. Maybe a locker limit per player could also be introduced? However people could create other accounts to bypass this, so locker upkeep would be the best solution in my opinion. Again, I am not asking for you to change the whole game just for me, only to implement 1 server (on either US or EU please :P) to see how it goes, and wether or not it gains popularity. Who knows, this might get you even more players? Cheers
