Big Survival Patch?

Hello Guys,

the playerbase has risen very fast in survival the last time, so i think it´s time for a big survival patch which is concentraded on the Survival Mode.
Here some ideas for the patch:


- Clans in Survival??? (This is idea is since july in the Forum and we do not have a correct answer yet, but Kaz created a Topic and the most People was postivie about it.)

- More/New Weapons/Items extra for survival (the last new AR between the tompson was the G11 and this exist since ISS World)

- Special Events only for Survival (like the Christmas Event last Year where you got an iba christmas)

- Specialist Contracts for Survival (so survival Player can also get These Skins)

- Gamedollar for Survival (no scammer, no trade with OW GD and more interesting to kill zombies)

- Tradezone for Survival (this is not important because Player can trade in the safezones)

- Why 1000 Woods for 1 Shield why not 100???( You can t rush without any shield and that´s why the People only camp behind tre´s or in houses with shotguns)

- New Ranks for Survival ?  (You Need after the assasin rank weeks/months for the next rank, because the ranks been taken over from OW. What about for new ranks between the old rnaks after assasin?)

- More Rare loot? ( until now only Wood shields, snipers and heavy armor are rare)

 

Everyone wants a patch like that, please take the wishes of the playerbase and give us a survival patch very soon.

First of all great idea and thanks for taking the time to write this down and share it with us!

Regarding your points:

- Clans in survival.
The only thing I am concerned of here is that this might destroy what's left of the game-mode meaning: clans / big groups can destroy a lot here. I really don't want that to happen.

- More new weapons / content.
Good point. I am busy a lot at the moment with optimizations for trees / rocks and other nature. On the side fixing a lot of stuff and preparing for the Christmas events already. Either way; if you have idea's for items just make a separate thread and we can discuss that there!

- Special events for only survival.
Good point. I'll see what I can do for Christmas 2018! Let me know if you have any ideas!

- Specialist contracts for Survival.
Good point, although I'd like to keep this separate. I was thinking doing something else than "specialist" on survival but kind of the same way.

- Game Dollars in Survival
Good point. We have talked about this for ages and should definitively be something to come ASAP. Shouldn't be that much work. (As far as I know, but can't confirm 100%)

- Trade Zone.
Can be done but the problem is that we wouldn't want players to get their spawn reset by joining this map. Also there is the problem here of the GI-Access. Not sure how we can "solve" this at the moment.

- Regarding the wood
1: I have to re-look at the crafting list and fix this. These numbers were based on if / when we would get tools so you can farm wood and stone etc. but that still hasn't happened.
2: If you have ideas / suggestions for changes related to the current crafting systems and amounts, let me know.

- New Ranks
Don't we have the exact same ranks as in Open World here? Good point though, I understand it's way harder to get rep in Survival way harder than in Open World. I'll see what we can do it, bring it up to the guys.

- More rare loot
Any suggestions?

Agree, don't think this is necessary, groups are already there and I think they are sufficient

This would actually be a great thing. This could get proper trading in survival going, but it has to be seperated from OW GD. I also think it should probably be implemented as something like a loot item and not go into your "bank account" right away, but you should have to get it to safety in a safe zone and whatever you have on you should drop on death.

Is this actually necessary? Aren't safe zones enough? I don't think there would be that many players trying to trade at all times

I think most craftable items are fine, however there are some, especially some crafting resources that require way too many ingredients, like the wooden shield mentioned. It it completely ridiculous for a shield to take 1000 wood, you find barriers like sand bags more often than wood (judging from my own experience) which means by the time you have enough wood to craft a single wooden barricade you have more than enough other barricade types. Just not worth crafting these things or even collecting resources for these things. Base resources like stone, wood, rope etc should have more use and impact in my opinion.

- New Ranks

This would be nice as well, but I think the lower ranks are fine already. Up to +-100 rep the ranks are great, after that the gaps are too large for survival in my eyes. I'd probably suggest something in the 100-200 range rep increments for the ranks

- More rare loot
Any suggestions?

This is a big one and very important for restoring the survival character of the gamemode. I personally think the loot rarity and composition should be somewhat like it was in the old WarZ game.

For one, loot should only spawn in the relevant regions, medical loot should spawn in pharmacies, hospitals, at ambulances, etc., I think a big problem right now is that military loot spawns in civilian areas, you find a lot of ARs in civilian areas, while there should be an extremely low chance to spawn this kind of loot in my eyes. The more civilian oriented weapons (things like Kruger rifles & pistols, mainly the semi-automatic guns) should be the vast majority of guns you find in civilian areas, while automatic weapons should primarily be found in military areas and not in civilian areas.

Then, there is quite a bit of loot that spawns waaaay too often. This is primarily the non-civilian guns, higher tier food and drink items and medical items and some of the armor items like IBAs and MTVs. I and some other people on this forum think the rarity of these items should increase a lot, something around 10-fold (to ~10% of the amount that spawns right now)

There was a post by slangstar who outlined this issue and good suggestions in a great way, I suppose you should have a look at it, it really describes the issue and some suggestions on how to fix it very well!

 

 

 

I highlighted my responses in the relevant colors, take green as a thumbs up and as very important for the gamemode, red as a "why?" and anything between as a "quite nice, but not urgent"
