The future of survival

4 posts in this topic

You will soon add Colorado V1 and it's very cool.I can get to the past)))

And this is followed by new questions. It is in general about survival, not about Colorado.

  • Will more zombies be added?
  • Will zombies become more dangerous or faster?
  • Will the number of loot finally decrease?
  • Can more weapons be added?Maybe new or even something from the Open World. For example Helmets (Blue, sand, URBAN helmet, helmets with camouflage etc.I do not understand why it was impossible to make such ar's as a night stalker, sig saer or fn249, pkm...Must be in fact objects that have a very high price, for which traded..But here it is only sniper rifles unfortunately. Earlier even the stanags were very valuable and they were traded.
  • It might be worth changing the interface of the game to a more awesome, dark? I like the new interface, but the white design is too light and poor.
  • Add more screaming and fast zombies to military bases and military points.
  • Can it be necessary to return item boxes as before? They are, but they often contain bandages or some unnecessary thing. And these boxes will spawn at military points. So it will be more interesting.
  • On survival it is necessary to change the lighting. To make the lighting darker and completely change the graphics to a more terrible one.
  • To have a balance at night, you should return the old design of the night vision. That there was this circle in the middle of the screen and a murky green light. Or, then do not add a circle, but make the lighting.
  • Remove the drop of medicines from the zombies or make a smaller chance.
  • Reduce the chance of spawning food. It will be more difficult and there will be some hardcore. It is also worth doing with medicines.
  • On the map you can find sand barricades and barbed wire. Increase the cooldown of these barricades. Otherwise they disappear too quickly.

Thank you for understanding!!

Hey! First of all thank you for all these questions! It's actually really helpful for me when people do this and now the community can hopefully have some questions answered! Thanks!

Will more zombies be added?
Yes. We are actually working on some kind of new "super zombie" right now. / Here a little knees peak hehe: http://prntscr.com/kxeu68

Will zombies become more dangerous or faster?
Yes. Just as that we plan on adding more different type of zombies they will all have different behavior and stats. Keep in mind when we add new zombies we will probably release them both in Open World and Survival ;)

Will the number of loot finally decrease?
We are constantly looking for feedback here. Loot is map based so we have to be very specific when talking and discussing things about loot. We gather feedback here: http://forums.fredaikis.com/index.php?/forum/114-feedback/

Can more weapons be added?Maybe new or even something from the Open World. Yes of course more weapons can be added. We are shifting right now (me personally) a lot more towards content. We want to add new weapons, items, zombies, maps, areas etc more often in the near future. These are great ideas. I especially like it when newer weapons would have either a type like "legendary" or be only obtainable in a certain way. We have something VERY cool upcoming regarding this in patch 2.23. I don't mind sharing what's gonna happen (this is copy pasted from upcoming patch notes):

  • SPECIALIST:
Are you up for a challenge? PVE or PVP player it doesn't matter! We now have "Specialist Contracts". Pay some attention to allow us to explain how this is going to work!

Specialist contracts have been added to Open World (as you can see above). These so called "Specialist" contracts always require a player to kill 50 other players with a certain weapon. Please note that contracts don't count in PVP servers.

When finishing a specialist contract players will always receive 2 things: a specialist skin recipe for that weapon the contract was for + a specialist coin. Players can do 1 of the same contract as many times as they want. In an example; Let's say you have 2 "Kruger Rifle Specialist" contracts. You sign one (so it starts), you start killing players with the kruger rifle and when you hit 50 kills you will get a skin recipe and a specialist coin. The contract you signed is gone, but you still have 1 "Kruger Rifle Specialist" contract left. You will be able to sign this one, and start again, as many times as you want.

Now, you might be wondering; "The skin recipe is nice, but what can I do with the Specialist Coin?". Let us explain. We expect players to start "farming" Specialist Coins. Players can't do anything with the coins other than that they can exchange 10 for a "Specialist Case". They can do this in the trading lounge by activating the (infinite repeatable) "Specialist Exchange" mission. They'll have to go to the Specialist vending machine and when pressing "E" on this object, they will exchange their 10 coins for 1 case.

This Specialist Case is a weapon case (only for open world). It's basically just like the Tactical Weapon Case. Players can open the case and get an item. For the Specialist Case players can get a specialist weapon. Right now, there is only one specialist weapon in the game; the XMR-32. This means that for now, when opening the specialist case you will always receive 1 XMR-32 sniper rifle. This sniper rifle is very overpowered but also, as you can imagine, very rare. These are the specialist contracts we have added for now:

    • Added a new specialist contract called: "AK-15 Specialist Contract".
    • Added a new specialist contract called: "MP7 Specialist Contract".
    • Added a new specialist contract called: "Jericho Specialist Contract".
    • Added a new specialist contract called: "B92 Specialist Contract".
    • Added a new specialist contract called: "FN57 Specialist Contract".
    • Added a new specialist contract called: "Kruger Rifle Specialist Contract".
    • Added a new specialist contract called: "Kruger Mini Specialist Contract".
    • Added a new specialist contract called: "Kruger .22 Specialist Contract".
    • Added a new specialist contract called: "Veresk Specialist Contract".
    • Added a new specialist contract called: "UZI Specialist Contract".
    • Added a new specialist contract called: "EVO-3 Specialist Contract".
    • Added a new specialist contract called: "G36 Specialist Contract".

It might be worth changing the interface of the game to a more awesome, dark? I like the new interface, but the white design is too light and poor.
We have plans for this. Right now priority is to finalize the implementation of FAC 2.0 (already happened) but we are fixing a lot of issues regarding this at the moment. Then priority goes to optimizations, even more. This game is quite old and even low end PC's should be able to run this game with more than decent FPS. This to create room for the more "improvement". Our engine can do a lot more and look a lot better, but these features are mostly turned off as there is no room in performance yet. Giving players better performance and more FPS will give us room to then add certain things back again.

While doing this we would want to make sure (as it's very important) to always keep a good difference between the settings like: POTATO, LOW, ULTRA etc. It's important that people who don't want a certain thing or setting, can turn it off. This also comes with adding more options in the "options" menu.

Besides this updating texture resolutions, quality, adding more variated nature, ambient, higher quality models and stuff is definitely something we plan on doing but like I said we need the space for it.

Add more screaming and fast zombies to military bases and military points.
I'd like to invite you to let this feedback know at: http://forums.fredaikis.com/index.php?/forum/114-feedback/ and suggest to us at what location you'd like to see what ;) We are open for anything.

Can it be necessary to return item boxes as before? They are, but they often contain bandages or some unnecessary thing. And these boxes will spawn at military points. So it will be more interesting
This feedback I will immediately process. This is not supposed to happen. I'll look into it. Item boxes should be rare and hard to find but always contain a good weapon.

On survival it is necessary to change the lighting. To make the lighting darker and completely change the graphics to a more terrible one
What do you mean?

The reason I am shifting you to there is because it's just easier and more organized to keep track of that feedback.

Sorry just noticed that the specialist contracts example is for open world. We plan on doing things like this also for survival, but not the same.

Best Regards,

Sven

Thank you very much for your answer!

As for the lighting on survival, I meant that you could make the lighting more dark or gloomy during the day. Already for a long time this was discussed in the forums, but I still asked again)
