Guide to Improving FPS

7 posts in this topic

Hello everyone I thoght that I create a thread showing to help increase optimal fps peformane in game. Ok lets get to it below is a list of fixes you can attempt yourself
in no particular order.

1. Optimize your pc with an optermising tool (advanced system care) etc
2. update you Graphics card software and drivers and CPU drivers if possible.
3. Defrag your pc and delete any unnessary programs/junk to improve HDD performance.
4.Upgrade your HDD to a SSD, SSDs are much faster than mechanical hard disks and while this most certainly doesn’t boost your game’s frame rate, it will definitely reduce load time in game.
5. Peform a clean startup When you start Windows, there are many applications and services that run automatically. Overall performance can be improved by stopping all of the unnecessary programs that cause stress on your PC and by running Windows without any third-party services. To perform this “clean startup,” hold down the “Windows” key on your keyboard and press “R.” Next, type in “msconfig,” and click on “OK.” On the “Services” tab, check “Hide all Microsoft services” and click on “Disable all.” This will prevent all of the services installed by third-party providers from running. Reboot your system once you’ve done this.
6.Add more ram.
7. Adjust settings in Nvidia control panel. To get to the NVIDIA Control Panel, right-click on your desktop, select “NVIDIA Control Panel” and head over to the “Manage 3D Settings” category on the left and try adjust the following settings,

Maximum Pre-Rendered Frames: This controls the number of frames that the processor prepares before transferring them to the graphics card. Increasing this value results in smoother game play, but you may notice a lag when using the mouse and keyboard. To eliminate the lag, try the “1″ setting.

Threaded Optimization: This option should always be “On”, as it allows the support of multi-threaded optimization for modern multi-core processors.

VSync: It synchronizes the frames that your graphics card renders with the refresh rate of your monitor. If you disable it, you might find that your game run more smoothly.

8. Make sure that you select Maximum Performance in your graphics card options Nvidia/AMD and disable all the power saving and battery extending options for AMD Radeon Open up your Radeon settings (right-click on your desktop), go to Global Settings and switch off Power Efficiency.

9. Run a registry defrag and scan your computer for mallicious software.

10. If your using Steam try verifying your game files Verify Integrity of Game Files Restart your computer and launch Steam.
From the Library section, right-click on the game and select Properties from the menu.Select the Local files tab and click the Verify integrity of game files... button. Steam will verify the game's files.

11. Set Newz to run on high priority Start Task Manager (Right Click on the Start Bar and select Task Manager)
Click on the Processes tab. Right Click on the Newz process and select "Set Priority" You can then select a different priority and set it to High, Close Task Manager.

Just a few fixes you can try and feel free to add more to the list any suggestions are welcome.
