Dear Players,

 

It's time again for a major patch. We are very excited to share this patch with you as we fixed and improved a lot of stuff. This patch includes a lot of fixes, the new skin re-roll feature and a fix for left peek!

There is so much more coming but for now this is what we're releasing this patch:

 

Overall Updates:

GENERAL:

  • Fixed a crash related to "melee_unarmed". Some players used to crashed because of this. (Sorry there is not really a better explanation.)
  • Fixed various client crashes. Thanks everyone for the crash dump uploading and the support tickets helping us out to fix these!
  • Fixed an Anti-Cheat related bug. We can't go in more details regarding this.
  • Fixed a graphic issue / glitch related to AMD video cards and the rifle / pistol flashlight. When using the rifle / pistol flashlight the particle / light would be glitched stay on a player's screen. This has been fixed and improved.
  • Fixed the "aim walk" sound when aiming down with your gun. Players have been abusing this and it was never suppose to be like this. When aiming down your gun (slower walking) you will now make slower footstep sounds.
  • Lowered the shooting sounds of the M249 due community requests.
  • Improvements have been made to our vehicle system. There was some issues with the physics of certain drive-able vehicles. This has been updated and improved. This will hopefully make clients crash less related to cars and physics.
  • Improved collision walls. (Invisible walls that get used in-game for borders of maps) We have done major changes to make sure players are never able to glitch through the collision walls anymore. If you somehow still manage to "glitch" through, please report this to us. Glitching is a bannable offense.
  • Proning no longer makes footstep sounds.
  • Server owners can no longer instantly change their server between PVP / PVE. This change will now ONLY go live after the server went in sleep mode aka all players left the server for over 5 minutes. There's been A LOT of complaints and reports from our community about this and we are happy to have changed the system like this so it can no longer be abused.

LEFT PEAK ISSUE:

We are very excited to share this news with you. After a lot of testing, trying and experimenting with the left peak issue we have finally found and finished a solution. For the players that are unfamiliar with this issue: The "left peak" issue is a glitch that players can abuse by standing behind a riot shield where when shooting another player their head / body is not visible for the player they are shooting.

  • Fixed the "left peak" issue by updating the crouching animations.

"GHOSTING" ISSUE:

"Ghosting" aka players spawning in a server without spawn protection randomly in a place in a level was getting abused. A big part of our community did not like the current system and therefor we have updated / changed the "ghosting" / player spawn system. (For players that are unfamiliar with the term "ghosting": "Ghosting" is basically when a player joins in a server on the same place where he logged out, for example inside a certain spot in a building."

  • Fixed the "ghosting" issue. When players switch to another server there is a cool-down of 2 hours now. If they join the server within those 2 hours their spawn will be reset. If they wait and join the server after 2 hours they will "ghost in" where they originally logged out at. (Of course only when not changing anything in their inventory.) (For players wondering: The cool-down before this patch was only 5 minutes.)

UI:

  • Fixed a bug related to the load-out system and stacking clips inside a load-out. When saving a load-out with for example a stack of 3 ammo clips, after loading that load-out the player would only load 1 clip instead of 3. This is now fixed. (Original report / example.)
  • Fixed various UI Bugs in the skin Menu.
  • Players can now see the amount of time that's left from the bus system cool-down in the interact menu (when hovering over a bus station). This has been requested by our community as many players were always wondering how much cool-down (time) there was left before they could use the bus system again.
  • The compass will now also show when being inside a car.

BUILDINGS:

  • Fixed the airport control tower window issue. Players can now jump through the windows properly without getting stuck.
  • Fixed another issue related to the airport tower. Players were able to glitch inside the inner wall. This is no longer possible. (Original Report.)
  • Fixed a texture issue related to one of the Caliwood buildings. This building could have potentially caused major FPS issues. (Click here for a picture of the building.)
  • Fixed a glitch related to a popular pvp building (at the beach) in Caliwood where players would abuse a glitch where players could look through the ground of the building. (Click here for a picture of the building.) (Click here for a picture of the glitch.)
  • Fixed a major issue related to the restaurant building where players would get major FPS drops when being close to this building. Also removed the glass to improve FPS.
  • Fixed an issue related to the Caliwood shopping center where one of the outside walls had a texture issue. (Picture.)
  • Fixed an issue with the propane tank model (for example in the lounge). Players can no longer glitch inside.
  • Fixed an issue related to the bridge highway models. Some parts of the bridge / highway players were able to glitch into.
  • Updated the Caliwood shopping center model where we also opened up the other walkway of the shopping center. (There is two walkways and only one got opened. Now they are both open.) (Picture.)

AIRDROP:

  • All changes listed below are for all airdrops aka: GD / GC Airdrop Caller and the random airdrop for all game-modes including Battle Royale.
  • Updated performance for airdrops. Airdrops no longer freeze / fps drop client's game when appearing.
  • Updated the airdrop system where the airdrop now fly's in the same direction for all clients.
  • Updated the airdrop plane: added particles to the engine to improve in a realistic point of view. (Preview.)
  • Added an extra indicator on the map when calling an airdrop. This beacon will indicate where the airdrop is going to land. (Preview.)

CAR SYSTEM:

  • Added new cars. (Check "Item Updates" for details.)
  • Players can now look around while being in a car by holding alt.
  • Fixed a glitch / bug that caused cars to randomly start driving backwards when exiting.
  • Fixed the vehicle lights not updating properly for other players.
  • Leaving a car does not randomly kick players anymore. This was a major issue players reported. The original issue was that players would use a vehicle and when they would leave the vehicle they would get kicked from the server, when joining back in they would be at the location where they originally entered the car and the car would be disappeared. This is now fixed.

SOUNDS:

  • A lot of work has been done related to the sounds of the game. We are very excited to share you these specific updates:

    GENERAL:
  • Updated bullet miss sounds. Added 20+ new variations.

 

  • TERRAIN:
  • Added gravel as new terrain / material type including it's own sounds and particles. We will start using this terrain type where gravel is present. Gravel impact sounds have 8 different variations.
  • Added ice as new terrain / material type including it's own sounds. We are not sure yet when we will start using this type. Ice impact sounds have 10 different variations.
  • Added mud as new terrain / material type including it's own sounds. This terrain type will probably be used around water. Mud impact sounds have 8 different variations.
  • Added rock as new terrain / material type including it's own sounds. Rock impact sounds will be used for rock models in-game where if players shoot on a rock they will hear these impact sounds. Rock impact sounds have 8 different variations.
  • Updated bullet impact sounds for water. Added 10 new variations. Old sounds that were already in use here sounded a bit low quality.
  • Updated bullet impact sounds for metal. Added 16 new variations.
  • Updated bullet impact sounds for wood. Added 16 new variations.
  • Updated bullet impact sounds for glass. Added 9 new variations. Old sounds that were already in use here sounded a bit low quality.
  • Updated bullet impact sounds for concrete. Concrete now has it's own impact sounds instead of the standard metal. This sound is variated up to 8 different sounds.
  • Updated bullet impact sounds for snow. Snow now has it's own impact sounds instead of the standard sand. This sound is variated up to 8 different sounds.
  • Updated bullet impact sounds for dirt. Dirt now has it's own impact sounds instead of the standard sand. Dirt material type was using the sand sounds before for bullet impacts.
  • Updated bullet impact sounds for grass. Grass now has it's own impact sounds instead of the standard sand. Grass material type was using the sand sounds before for bullet impacts.

THE SKIN RE-ROLL FEATURE:

Something new! We have added a "skin re-roll" feature to the game in the main menu. Players can now re-roll their skin recipes and get a skinbox back that they can re-open or trade. We wanted to give players something more to do with their "useless" skins and give players the ability to clean up their skin recipes in their global inventory. 

The way the skin re-roll feature works is relatively simple. You can re-roll skins now in the "skin" menu in the main menu of the game. After this patch there will be another tab called: "Re-roll". When going to the skin re-roll menu players will see the following: At the down right part of the screen you will see all skin recipes that you have in your inventory. (keep in mind this does not include learned skins). Players then have to select 10 of their skin recipes. The skin recipes the player selected will show in the row at the top of the screen. The player is forced to select 10 skin recipes. Players can not re-roll when there is less than 10 skin recipes selected. When the player is selecting the skin recipes the game will automatically know what skinbox that recipe is originally from / in. It will then add this skinbox in the "What you could get" part of this menu. This happens for all the 10 skin recipes. For example: when adding 10 skin recipes that are originally in 10 different boxes, 10 different boxes will show in the "what you could get" part of the menu. The player can then click on re-roll and based on chance it will give 1 of the skinboxes back to the player. The player will lose the 10 selected skin recipes.

  • Some skins are in more than one skinbox. When a skin recipe is chosen that is originally in more than one skinbox it will automatically add a chance of getting one of the boxes that the skin recipe is originally in / from.
  • Chances are based on the rarity of the skin recipe in the skinbox it's originally from. For example: Adding a skin that's extremely rare from the Chrome Skinbox will give the player more chance on getting a Chrome Skinbox than if the player would add a common skin from the Chrome Skinbox.
  • Players can not put the same skin recipe more than once in the same re-roll.

To make everything as clear as possible we would like to give an example of how this re-roll system will work: (Please keep in mind that the whole re-roll system is based on chances. The example is not 100% accurate but it's to show players how it could work)

  1. A player is adding 10 skin recipe's:
    1. 2 recipes from the Destruction Skinbox. ( 2 common )
    2. 3 recipes from the Epic Skinbox. ( 1 rare, 2 common )
    3. 1 recipe from the Chrome Skinbox. ( 1 extremely rare )
    4. 4 recipes from the Normal Skinbox. ( 4 common )
  2. Possible skinboxes it will show in this case (In the "what you could get" menu):
    1. Destruction Skinbox.
    2. Epic Skinbox.
    3. Chrome Skinbox.
    4. Normal Skinbox.
      So, 4 different boxes in total. Keep in mind it will just show 4 of these boxes. It will not show what is the chance of every box. Obviously when having 4 skin recipes from the normal skinbox in there, the chance getting that normal skinbox is big.
  3. Player clicks on re-roll. He could get the following result:
    1. Since he put 1 extremely rare chrome skin in the chance getting a chrome skinbox is higher than normal.
    2. The player will most likely get a normal skinbox since 4 common skin recipes from the normal skinbox are added.

In the end it all comes down to chances and being lucky. If you have those recipes laying around in your global inventory doing nothing anyways, you might aswell re-roll them, right? Have fun!

 

PVP Servers Map Rotation:

Like we promised in earlier patch notes; the pvp map rotation is now live! This means that this patch and all upcoming patches (around ever 2-3 weeks) we do a PVP Servers Map Rotation. This means that let the community vote on their favorite pvp maps. The top 3 / 4 of the result of this vote will be live in the next patch.

Results of this voting are as following:

  1. Clear V2.
  2. Rocky Ford.
  3. Cliffside.

Item Updates:

GENERAL:

  • Fixed the item name of the "QBZ 95". Updated the name to "QBZ-95".
  • Fixed an issue related to the "Riot Shield Russia". This model had certain files missing and could potentially cause players to crash.
  • Fixed AUG animations and for it's skinned versions.
  • Updated the store icon of the "Buggy" vehicle.
  • Updated the store icon of the "Zombie Killer" vehicle.
  • Updated the store icon of the "Stryker" vehicle.
  • Updated the item name of the "AK-30" ammo to: "AK 30".
  • Updated the description of the "Large Backpack". (Description was describing the wrong slot amount.)
  • Updated the item name of the "E-Unit GI-Access Locker". (Name was messed up for some reason.)
  • Updated the item name of the "AWP Clip" to "AWP Mag".
  • Updated the "IMI-TAR-21" store icons. Also updated the recipes with the new icons.
  • Updated the "Katana" store icons. Also updated the recipes with the new icons.
  • Added a new car: "Humvee". The Humvee is a new military vehicle that players can use. It can hold slightly more fuel than the other vehicles and has a little bit extra armor. This new vehicle will be available in the in-game marketplace after the patch. (Picture.)
    • This car has unique new engine sounds.
  • Added a new car: "Zombie Killer Bus". The bus can have 18 players inside max. It's a great vehicle to use when you are playing with a big group. (Picture.)
    • This car has unique new engine sounds.
  • Added a new media riot shield: "Riot Shield Ice9".
  • Added a new clan riot shield: "Riot Shield BoS".
  • Added a new clan riot shield: "Riot Shield EXCN".
  • Added a new clan riot shield: "Riot Shield UFO".
  • Updated the description of the "Military Backpacks". (Description was describing the wrong slot amount.)

MODEL UPDATES:

Due to community demand and complaints from players especially aimed towards beginning players we have done some model updates. This is also why (as you can see in the next point) the karambits are going to be skin recipes instead. The biggest issue is that some skins in the game change the model completely making it impossible for especially beginning players to know what kind of item or helmet a player is using. For example: The MLG hat. The MLG hat is a K. Style Helmet skin but changes the model entirely. Our plan is to rework all skins that change the model entirely so that the game overall makes more sense. Here's what we have done:

  • Updated the "K. Style Helmet Chupacabra" aka "Chupacabra hat" which was / is a skin for the K. Style helmet.
  • Updated the "K. Style Helmet Fredaikis" aka "Fredaikis's hat" which was / is a skin for the K. Style Helmet.
  • Updated the "K. Style Helmet Wizard" aka "Wizard hat" which was / is a skin for the K. Style Helmet. Also improved the textures. See this model as something temporary as we were forced to update it since the old witch hat model was extremely un-optimized.
  • Updated the "K. Style Helmet Witch" aka "Witch hat" which was not a skin but is now a skin for the K. Style Helmet.
  • Updated the "Katana E-Unit" aka "Erckul's sub wand" which was / is a skin for the Katana.
  • Updated the "Katana Valentine" aka "Valentine wand" which was / is a skin for the Katana.

KARAMBITS CHANGE:

For some people this might come as a surprise, some people might have expected this already but we are changing the karambits. Karambits have always been actual items in the game and because of several reasons we are forced to update this: For beginning players it can be often confusing that karambits are items and not skinned items. With this change where karambits become skins it will make more sense for beginning players but also for the game in long term. So here is exactly how this update / change will work:

  • All karambits in people's inventories will change to skin recipes of that certain karambits. The normal karambits won't be touched.
  • Players will be able to skin their normal karambit into any karambit skin they learned.
  • All karambits in the skinboxes will be updated to actual recipes instead of the actual items.
  • The Battle Royale load-outs that had skinned karambits now have the unskinned karambit by default.
  • Karambits that players could get from GC airdrops will also be updated to actual skin recipes of those karambits.
  • All chances will stay the same. (Skinboxes & GC Airdrops)

So, in the end players will have exactly the same amount of karambits but then as skin recipes. They will be able to learn the recipes or trade them. That's up to yourself. What we achieve with this change:

  • No player will really "lose" anything.
  • Karambit skin recipe prices will go up in price. (expected)
  • The game will make more sense for beginning players and in the long term since all skinned items will now have skin recipes.
  • Players will be able to use their beloved skinned karambits more since they can just skin it on the normal karambit.
  • Players will be able to use their beloved skins for karambits in other game-modes too.

CLAN SKINS:

Based on some reports from our community we would like to announce the following: We have checked some statistics in our database regarding current clans that have clan skins and we have disabled clan skins for clans that are possibly violating our rules. Rumors go that clans are selling spots to other players just so they can use those clan skins. We DO NOT allow this. In order to clean this up we have temporary disabled clan skins for the clans in question.

Clans in question are requested to contact our community manager: Chupacabra. (If you can't find a way to contact him please make a support ticket at https://playnewz.com/support.php/ )

In the meanwhile we have done the following:

  • Clan skins no longer have cool-downs. Now that we are sure clan skins are no longer being abused we have removed the 7 day cool-down to use clan skins.
  • Clan skins can now ONLY be used on characters that are in the actual clan. For example: when joining a server with a skinned clan armor on a character that is NOT in that clan it will automatically un-skin that item. Players can now only use characters with a character that they're in that certain clan with.

For other players wondering why we're addressing this: We do not release clan skins anymore. The game has had clan skins in the past and clans that got their clan skins in the past were allowed to keep them when we stopped releasing clan skins. Currently in-game there's still some clans left that have clan skins. These clans are the clans we are talking about. Skin Updates:

GENERAL:

  • Fixed the store icon of the "Custom Guerrilla Skully Pink". (Was using the old one before.)
  • Updated the "M4A1 Camo" textures. The skin now uses the newer camo pattern.
  • Updated the "MLG Hat" skin name to: "K. Style Helmet Wizard".

AUTUMN SKINBOX:

  • The Autumn skinbox is back for limited time! (This skinbox will be available for limited time. You will be able to buy it for GD (not sure), or find it in-game.) The Autumn skinbox still has it's old skins from last year but we also added more new skins! Here's a list:
  • Added a new skin called: "AWP Autumn" to the Autumn Skinbox.
  • Added a new skin called: "G11 Autumn" to the Autumn Skinbox.
  • Added a new skin called: "M4A1 Autumn" to the Autumn Skinbox.
  • Added a new skin called: "M9 Bayonet Autumn" to the Autumn Skinbox.
  • Added a new skin called: "QBZ Autumn" to the Autumn Skinbox.
  • Added a new skin called: "Sig Sauer 556 Autumn" to the Autumn Skinbox.
  • Added a new skin called: "VSS Vintorez Autumn" to the Autumn Skinbox.

KILLER SKINBOX:

  • Added a new skinbox called: "Killer Skinbox".
  • Added a new skin called: "K. Style Helmet Clown" to the new "Killer Skinbox". (Picture.)
  • Added a new skin called: "K. Style Helmet Black" to the new "Killer Skinbox".
  • Added a new skin called: "K. Style Helmet Jason" to the new "Killer Skinbox".
  • Added a new skin called "K. Style Helmet Shadow" to the new "Killer Skinbox".
  • Added a new skin called "K. Style Helmet Shadow" to the new "Killer Skinbox".
  • Added a new skin called "K. Style Helmet Aviator" to the new "Killer Skinbox".
  • Added a new skin called: "K. Style Helmet Minimal". This skin is again a skin where the original model gets modified instead of just the texture. This K. Style is like a "simpler" version of the original K. Style. We are not sure yet in what skinbox this skin will be.

REVOLUTION SKINBOX:

  • Added a new skin called: "Medium Backpack Invisible" to the "Revolution Skinbox".
  • Added a new skin called: "Large Backpack Invisible" to the "Revolution Skinbox".
  • Added a new skin called: "Adventure Backpack Invisible" to the "Revolution Skinbox".
  • Added a new skin called: "Mauser SP66 Massacre" to the "Revolution Skinbox".

CHROME SKINBOX:

  • Added a new skin called: "Blaser R93 Chrome" to the "Chrome Skinbox".
  • Added a new skin called: "Mossberg 590 Chrome" to the "Chrome Skinbox".
  • Added a new skin called: "SVD Chrome" to the "Chrome Skinbox".
  • Added a new skin called: "Military Chrome" to the "Chrome Skinbox".

WORLD SKINBOX:

  • Added a new skin called: "Sig Sauer 556 Russia" to the "World Skinbox".
  • Added a new skin called: "M4A1 Thailand" to the "World Skinbox".
  • Added a new skin called: "M4 Spain" to the "World Skinbox".
  • Added a new skin called: "FAMAS France" to the "World Skinbox".

IMPROVEMENTS:

We have done some updates related to our 3D models / engine allowing us to to newer and different things. We are aiming to step into the creation of new kinds of skins where the skin not only changes the texture of a certain item, but also the model. We will still always "mix up" so that the original item can still be recognized.

 

Survival Updates:

LOOT UPDATES:

  • Overall component item spawns have been decreased.
  • Food and water spawns have been increased throughout the entire map.
  • Medical item spawns have been increased.
  • Duct Tape item spawns have been increased.
  • Empty Can item spawns have been increased.

CRAFTING SYSTEM:

  • Fixed the empty jerry can missing icon issue. This item has an icon now.
  • Fixed the rock 3d model. The model was invisible before.
  • Fixed a major issue related to the "Pill Case" component. This was also the reason why this component wasn't spawning yet. Now, it's spawning.
  • You now need 5 sticks to craft 1 wood. (Before you needed 2 sticks to craft 5 wood.)
  • You now need 5 rocks to craft 1 stone. (Before you needed 2 rocks to craft 5 stone.)

COMMUNITY FEEDBACK:

The following points are based on suggestions from our community that we haven't patched just yet. We would like to give a heads-up to let the people know who came up with these ideas what the status and the plan is. We are also doing this to keep you guys updated on what we're working on and what's coming soon!

We're sorry that this patch's survival part was relatively small. Therefor also this detailed list:

  • Some players have been suggesting to make food craftable. For now we haven't really found any combinations that make sense. We are aiming to make the food system more advanced as we would like to add new kinds of food together with features like cooking all related to survival before we make food craftable. For now we don't think it fits in just yet.
  • Lockers are definitively coming soon. We do not want to add the original ISS lockers, so we're working on different kind of lockers - more info soon.
  • Loot is planned to be more variated! We're also planning on adding a lot of new content (items) just for survival.
  • In the far end there is an entire new map planned. No updates on this yet but this is our ultimate goal.

 

Battle Royale Updates:

GENERAL:

  • Removed smoke grenades from the Battle Royale load out due to performance issues.'
  • Updated the airdrop. Read "General" part of this patch notes for more info.

AIRDROP:

  • Heavy Armor has been removed from the Battle Royale airdrop loot.
  • Custom Guerilla has been added to the Battle Royale airdrop loot.
  • Bullet Compensator has been added to the Battle Royale airdrop loot.
  • Red stalker spawn rates from the Battle Royale airdrop has been increased.

 

Map Updates:

COLORADO V2:

  • Updated some grass around Campos City to improve FPS and performance.
  • Updated some collision walls in Campos City. Also removed a few allowing players to enter certain area's.
  • Updated collision walls in Death Valley. Please keep in mind that glitching through these is a bannable offense.
  • Fixed some flying trees in Death Valley.
  • Fixed some fences at Emerald Peak Retreat where players could only shoot through the fence from one side.
  • Re-added the Vault and market NPC in Goblin Peak settlement. (they weren't showing before)

CALIWOOD:

  • Fixed a problem related to the zombie navigation mesh where zombies were able to glitch through certain buildings at the beach area.
  • Fixed the convention center model. Some players were having FPS / performance issues around this building.
  • Updated the location the bus stop at the shopping mall. Moved it from the front side of the building to the back side.
  • Updated collision walls around the pier and on top of the market roof. (to prevent players from glitching.)
  • Fixed some terrain issues north-west of the town near the gas station. (player were falling in to a hole)
  • Added some collision walls on top of some building at the beach area. (player were camping on top of it)
  • Added some environment to the beach at the player spawns. (Player who spawned there, didn't had any protection)

LOUNGE:

  • Removed the fire flames outside of the map. (low-end computers had problems to load them)
  • Replaced the lights on the entire map. (low-end computers had problems to load them)
  • Places some collision walls around the oil-tank. (Player were glitching in it)

ROCKY FORD (PVP MAP):

  • Removed a building where players could glitch into and replaced it with another similar building.
  • Re-worked the collision walls around the map to improve FPS and performance.

SPRING VALLEY (PVP MAP):

  • Fixed some flying objects (walkways) around some houses.
  • Removed some double placed (duplicated) buildings to improve FPS and performance.
  • Deleted some fences since the total amount of fences in the map was too high.
  • Updated some player spawn points due community request. Some player spawn points were extremely overpowered.

still wondering why there is a church and these other buildings in rockyford pvp map, its not in original rocky and the map was big enough already, if the server isnt 20 pop i mostly dont even have stamina because the map kind of grew to much xD

although good patch ;) and for new chrome skins in next patch u could add honey badger, l85 etc :)

Great work guys but i'm playing in survival mode and i'd like more contents especially for this mode even if you added some good stuff...

What about snipers spawn in this mode ? Im playing since a long time and snipers that i had comes from players, i never had one somewhere else except an SVD from SZ (i killed ~200 SZ until now)
